Mr. Flauto is a member of USA (United Scenic Artists). His professional credits include scene designs for the Indiana Repertory Theatre, the Philadelphia Theatre Company, the New Harmony Theatre, and the Crewe Theatre in Cheshire, England. He has worked for several seasons at the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival and Hope Summer Repertory Theatre in Holland, Michigan, and in both places has designed costumes as well as sets.

He has been a long time member of USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology) and has attended several National Conferences for which he has served on more than one panel.

Before coming to the University of Evansville he was on the faculty at the University of Kentucky as a costume designer and at the State University College at Potsdam, New York, as a set, lighting, and costume designer. He holds an MFA in Scenic Design from the University of New Orleans.
