The purpose of this organization is to aid the progress of the University of Evansville Theatre by serving as an advocating society in support of all functions of the department, its faculty, and its students. The Theatre Society will, through its membership and activities, seek to increase public awareness and therefore maximize the impact of the University of Evansville Theatre in the national, regional, and local communities. Although the Theatre Society's role should in no way be thought of as supplanting the University's responsibility for its basic educational programs and the maintenance and upkeep of the theatre facility, the Society will from time to time identify and respond to special needs and projects while supporting the Theatre through community development activities.
